Roland St. Louis, one of National Physiatry’s founders, was a National Merit Scholar, a 1978 graduate of Wesleyan University (B.A., College of Social Studies and Philosophy), and earned a Juris Doctor degree at the University of Chicago in 1984. He has been a principal of, advised and participated in numerous business enterprises, ranging from high-tech fertilizer research and a human bioavailability clinic to real estate developers and construction companies. Roland currently manages a real estate investment fund and is also affiliated with BHHS, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway.

James “Chip” Black, one of National Physiatry’s founders, was born in Brunswick, Maine, attended public schools there and graduated from Williams College and the Harvard Business School. He came to Florida and became involved in many business and civic activities.
